Rider’s Paradise in Cornwall
We offer fantastic off-road riding on beautiful Bodmin Moor for beginners and for experienced riders. We limit rides to one family or group of friends at a time, which means we can maintain excellent levels of service and safety to make sure that all riders get the most out of their ride. We also offer self-catering cottages for both riders and non-riders to explore this unspoilt part of Cornwall.
Horse Riding Holidays
Enjoy fabulous scenic riding at Hallagenna in one of the UK’s last unspoilt wildernesses. We can tailor your riding holiday to suit you down to your boots, whilst our self-catering cottages are the perfect place to relax after a day in the saddle.
Self Catering Cottages
We’re keeping our low deposit scheme for 2025! You can still book any holiday for 2025 with just a 50% deposit! Our lovely, self-catering cottages have been converted from our old stables to provide smart, low-energy holiday accommodation. We now accept up to two dogs in Trippet Cottage.
Horse & Pony Trekking
We offer horse and pony trekking across open moorland suitable for beginners (min age 5 yrs) and experienced riders. Our friendly staff and our experienced horses and ponies will make sure you have a memorable riding experience. Special Family Rate – from £130 for 4 riders!
Hacking & Trail Riding
For experienced riders, we can guide you across breathtaking Bodmin Moor on one of our popular trail rides, including our new Poldark Trail, taking in some of the locations used during filming. From 1 – 7 hours. Click here for our latest programme of trails for 2024
Horses Welcome - Livery options

Horse riding in Cornwall for all abilities
For beginners we offer a gentle half or full hour of trekking. Under 10’s ride on a lead rein. Minimum age is 5 years.
For experienced riders (12 years and above) – i.e. if you can confidently gallop in wide, open spaces – we offer one hour trail rides or a range of longer, exhilarating trail rides.
For riders on an experienced ride please note that our horses, whilst safe, are forward and love to jump, gallop and enjoy the wide open moorland so please don’t overestimate your riding ability! For any ride over 2 hours you may need an assessment ride for 1 hr (£45) subject to availability. We’re also continuing to expand our range of fantastic trail rides for experienced riders whilst continuing to include our most popular trails – The Poldark Trail and The Rising Sun Trail – visiting one of the oldest pubs on Bodmin Moor. Our trails offer an unforgettable riding experience in one of the UK’s last great wildernesses.

Trails for experienced Riders
From Cream Teas to Poldark
Our regular Trail Rides are ideal for experienced riders, exploring some of the hidden corners of Bodmin Moor with our experienced, friendly guide. For riders on an experienced ride please note that our horses, whilst safe, are forward and love to jump, gallop and enjoy the wide open moorland so please don’t overestimate your riding ability!
Designed specifically for experience riders, each week during certain times of the year we feature a fabulous trail, including our popular Poldark trial ride or how about finishing with a cream tea or Cornish pasty after 5 hours on the Cream Tea Trail! Find out more.
