Poldark Trail

Our Instructor Jen was involved in handling the horses. The film crew filmed around Bodmin Moor so to celebrate we’ve launched a brand new Poldark Trail.  During this trail we visit several of the sites used for filming to give riders a real feel for “Poldark” country. This trail will only be available to Experienced Riders (riders comfortable at walk, trot and canter).

From Hallagenna we cross Ladydown Common through Bolatherick, passing Ivy Common. We then continue on, passing King Arthurs Hall and on towards Roughtor and Brown Willy, the highest point in Cornwall and home to numerous ancient settlements. We then head around the back of Roughtor, enjoying breathtaking views of the whole of Cornwall. We then visit Logans Rock and down to Watergate. This leads us over the ancient packhorse trail and on to Alex Tor. Throughout the trail you will experience countryside and terrain ridden by those filming both the original and the forthcoming Poldark series.

The trail is available as 2 hours (£60 per person) or 4 hours (£110 per person), (Own horse £30 per person 4hrs)

Please e mail or telephone to book ( Own Horses welcome )

For those more adventurous riders we can offer a full days trail passing through areas around the famous Jamaica Inn, also featured during the filming of Poldark.

A shorter ride is available to novice riders through countryside which is familiar to the area used in the filming. From £20 per person.
